National_Boss's_Day_5_Ways_to_Show_Your_AppreciationEveryday there is something new to celebrate in the professional world. For example, there's Administrative Professionals' Day, Teachers' Day, etc. October 16 is National Boss's Day. This event is largely celebrated in Canada and the United States.

Liberty Staffing would like to provide you with some tips of how you can celebrate National Boss's Day today. After all, supervisors and managers can often go unrecognized, and that's a shame. Bosses are an integral part of a business, and they are very important in operations running smoothly.

Managers need to be shown instances of appreciation in order to be motivated, just like any employee working within a company. Here are five things that you can do to show your boss your appreciation.

1. Say Thank You

The simplest, and yet still very effective, way to show your appreciation to your manager is to thank them in-person for all that they do. Let them know that their hard work is appreciated, and doesn't go unnoticed. The company's success stems from your boss's ability to lead your team. They are important, so let your boss know it.

2. Give a Card

Another great, inexpensive way to illustrate appreciation is to give your boss a card. Select a card that is heartfelt and thankful. Then, sign the card showing your appreciation. We are sure that your boss will be grateful and more than happy to receive a card from one of his/her employees.

If you have time, you could get all of your coworkers to sign the card as well.

3. Send an Email

Let's face it, you may have a busy day on October 16. Unfortunately you may not have a chance to say thank you in-person to your boss. Or, perhaps your manager is out of the office for the day. If you are unable to connect with your supervisor the day of National Boss's Day, make sure to at least send them an email. It only takes a minute to send an email thanking your boss for everything. Let your manager know that you are thinking of them on this day. They will be sure to appreciate that you took the time out of your busy schedule to send your thanks.

4. Give a Team Gift

Get your team together to go in on a gift for your manager. The gift doesn't have to be anything extravagant. A gift card to a coffee shop would be a great idea. The gift is just a little something from your whole team which showcases your appreciation for your supervisor.

5. Buy Them a Coffee

Usually every boss likes coffee, tea, or hot chocolate. You can never go wrong with purchasing a hot beverage for your boss. If you've worked with your boss for a couple of years, you are sure to know what type of hot beverage your they enjoy. This is another inexpensive way to show your appreciation.
