Update_Your_Resume_for_the_New_Year.jpgIs your resume ready for the new year? Perhaps one of your resolutions is to update your resume in order to gain a new job. Since 2018 has now arrived, we would like to provide you with some tips to update your resume. Whether you are in need of a quick fix, or a full revamp, here's what you can do.

State the Latest Information

The new year is now upon us, which means you'll probably have some new information to add to your resume. It's important to note all of your work experience from the past year. Also, if you have moved or have a new phone number, update your curriculum vitae with this as well.

Add New Skills

You've likely learned a few things over the past year. Add all of your new skills to your resume for 2018. For example, you may have worked on a team project, or you may have used a new software, it's important to highlight all of these new skills you've learned using active, descriptive words.

Temporary workers will especially gain new skills throughout the year, as they work at different jobs sites in different roles. Temporary workers have a wide and transferrable skill set.

Education/Training

Have you gone back to school in the past year? If so, note what you studied on your resume. Did you complete a training course? It's especially important to note this information on your new resume.

Offer New References

Are your current references from managers/supervisors from years ago? If so, it's time to refresh your references. Add new, up-to-date references. It's best to update your references from your most recent positions.
