5_Great_Recruiting_Strategies_to_Implement_in_2019As a business owner or human resources professional, did you experience lack of staff, or a lot of employee turnover in 2018? With unemployment at an all time low in 40 years, it comes as no surprise.

Hiring the right people for your business, and retaining these employees, is imperative to your company's overall success. Without hardworking employees, production levels will plummet, and you'll lose profits.

More and more companies are turning to staffing agencies to help in their recruitment process. Recruiting in-house is time consuming, and a bad hiring decision can cost you money.

2019 is here. It's the perfect time to get your hiring and recruitment processes sorted out. Partnering with a staffing agency, like Liberty Staffing Services, can help.

1. Create Accurate Job Descriptions

A common mistake that employers make is writing an inaccurate, or vague, job description of the position that you're hiring for. We're not saying that you have to be Shakespeare in order to write a great job description, but try your best. Make sure that you are plainly stating what the position will entail. The last thing that you want to do is attract the wrong candidates to apply to your position. Be as clear and detailed as you can.

2. Retain Staff Members

If you've hired the right people for the job, that's great! Congratulations. Now it's time to ensure that you retain these great employees. The last thing you want to do is see a good employee quit because they're bored, or overworked and stressed, or they've found a job with better pay.

How can you retain staff members? Be there for your employees when they need training and guidance. Make sure that they are happy in their role. Create a work atmosphere that is stress free. Bonuses, incentives, and hosting social events during work hours can really help boost employee morale and motivation

3. Use Social Media to Recruit

A lot of social media platforms have turned into additional avenues for recruiting purposes for employers. Facebook, in particular, has created a feature in which you can post a job directly onto the site. Local candidates are then able to apply to the positions, and are able to send their resumes through Facebook Messenger. Posting a job is easy if you already have a company Facebook page, and it's free. To increase applications, you can also boost your job for a fee.

4. Recruit at Job Fairs

While social media can be a great tool to recruit, don't forget that one-on-one physical interaction between employer and job seeker is important. Have yourself and a few other enthusiastic team members from your company recruit at a local job fair. This is not only a great way to get your company name out there, but if a job seeker enjoys interacting with you, they'll be more likely to apply. You'll also gain first hand insight into which candidates stood out in a positive light.
