5_Tips_to_Help_You_Succeed_at_Your_First_Office_JobIf you've just landed a office position through Liberty Staffing's clerical division, that's great! Congratulations. Is this your first official job after graduation? If so, we'd like to offer you some tips to help you succeed at your new job

Whether you're headed into an Administrative Assistant, Receptionist, Accounting, or Data Entry role, you need to be prepared. Feelings of nervousness is normal, especially on your first day. You may also feel a bit overwhelmed with all the training that you'll be receiving. Perhaps you're eager and excited to get started. Either way, here's what you can to do succeed.

1. Prepare for Your First Day

Making a good first impression is very important at a new job. So make sure that you are ready to take on your first day. Pack your lunch, and get your clothes ready the night before your first day. Iron your collared shirt. Set your alarm.

You'll probably be meeting most of your coworkers on your first day, so make sure that you're in a good mood and head space on your first day. The last thing you want to do is meet everyone and not be 100% focused because you are tired or anxious.

2. Ask Questions

Don't be afraid to ask questions, especially during the training process. There's always a learning curve when you start a new job. Asking questions is the best thing that you can do to learn and retain information.

Most importantly, be sure to ask your supervisor/manager what they are expecting of you in this role. This will give you a clear idea of what targets you should be hitting and how quickly, and you can schedule your work accordingly.

3. Organize Your First Month

Once your training is complete, and you feel that you can follow through on the tasks assigned to you, organize your work. Create a schedule/timeline and checklist for your first month. Every time you complete a task, check off the project and move on to the next order of business. This is sure to keep you on track, and it will impress your manager.

4. Try to Go Above and Beyond

Does one of your coworkers need an extra hand? Ask them. If they do require assistance, try to help them out as much as you can. Your manager will love seeing you getting along with your coworkers. After all, you want to show that you're a hard worker, and a team player to your boss.

5. Introduce Yourself

Make the effort to meet others during your first week at a new job. Go up and introduce yourself. Offer a handshake and a smile. Your coworkers will appreciate you doing so.

It's especially important that you introduce yourself to those who you will be working closely with. If your new job requires you to work in a large team, be sure to meet everyone in the department.
