If you are a manager, supervisor, or business owner, you may be wondering how you can incorporate Earth Day into the workplace. Celebrating milestones and events is a great way to keep your staff motivated, engaged, and can help you retain employees.

Every company and corporation can do one small thing during the week of Earth Day to celebrate and help protect the environment. At Liberty Staffing Services, we try our best to be as environmentally friendly as possible.

Here are some environmentally friendly ideas to incorporate into your workplace.

Organize a Clean Up Event

Have you noticed a lot of garbage near your work facility? Whether you work in a warehouse or office environment, litter is everywhere unfortunately. Why not take some time during the workday to clean up around your work facility? We know the workday can be fairly busy, but taking a 15 minute break with your staff members to clean up in your neighbourhood can make a big difference. Many hands make light work!

Purchase gloves for your employees, and be sure to collect and dispose of garbage properly.

Not only is this great for the environment, but your workplace will appear spotless, helping your business look polished and professional.

Start a Competition

Create some healthy competition with staff members through environmentally friendly contests. Create contests that promote better energy efficiency, reduction of your carbon footprint, etc.

You could give out prizes related to company marketing material, or you could purchase an office plant that offers air purification for winners. Be creative.

Brainstorm Ideas on a Greener Work Facility

Take some time during the workday to brainstorm with your team on how you can make your warehouse or office more environmentally friendly, and energy efficient. This could be anything from changing the lights, to establishing paper-free methods, to recycling more.
