There are nine statutory holidays in Ontario. Monday February 15, 2016 is Family Day. Family Day is held on the third Monday in February of every year in Ontario, regulated under the Employment Standards Act, 2000. Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Ontario, and Saskatchewan observe Family Day as a statutory holiday.
Family Day was first established in 2007, with the purpose of providing working Ontarians with a holiday between New Year’s Day and Easter. On this statutory holiday, Ontario families with get the day off to spend time with their family and loved ones.

Will I be required to work on Family Day?
No. Family Day is a statutory holiday in Ontario. You will have the day off on Monday February 15, 2016.
Will I be paid for the public holiday?
If you are currently employed with Liberty Staffing, yes, you will get Family Day off with pay.
What should I do with my day off?
There are many family-friendly events happening within various Ontario communities. Often there are public skates, and free swims. Check out what’s happening on Family Day in your city online.
What services and businesses are open on Family Day?
Public services, such as hospitals, hotels/motels, restaurants, and public transportation, will be open on Family Day. Most businesses and offices are closed on Family Day.
Liberty Staffing Services will be closed on Monday February 15, 2016 in recognition of Family Day. We will reopen for business on Tuesday February 16, 2016 at 8am.
