3_Problems_with_Your_Current_Staffing_AgencyYour current staffing agency should be providing you with high-quality personnel while also saving you money and time spent on the hiring process. When your current staffing agency cannot do so effectively, you have a problem. Your staffing firm should be a convenience, not a hindrance to your business. If your staffing agency can’t properly solve your hiring problems, or even worse, causes even more problems, then it’s a sign that you should probably move on and engage a new firm for your hiring needs. Here are three problems you might be facing with your current staffing agency.

1. Personnel

Naturally, when you’re working with a staffing firm, it’s because you’re looking for candidates to fill specific positions at your company. If your firm doesn’t have a large enough pool of candidates for you to choose from, your needs might not be met. You might have to settle for a new hire that isn’t quite qualified for the position, simply because you had no other choices.

When you engage a staffing agency, you should never have to settle. You should get the right candidates for the jobs. Some jobs might require computer knowledge, safety training, or other skills that are necessary. If your firm isn’t giving you candidates with the skills and knowledge you need, you’re wasting your time. Or, you might find that it’s taking the firm an unusually long time to find you the right person for the job. This can be a big red sign telling you that they simply don’t have the candidates on hand that you need, and this is a problem.

2. Time

If you’re constantly trying to get a hold of your agency without results, you have a problem. Some firms just don’t have the resources to maintain relationships with all of their clients, so they’re always playing catch up. And this isn’t good for your company. While you’re waiting for your new hire, you could be losing out on money and your productivity can dip below acceptable levels.

Additionally, staffing needs can occur at any time, day or night, weekday or weekend. You might need a temp worker right away for a night shift or on a Sunday, and if your agency isn’t available to help fill the position, you’re not getting the level of service that you require.

3. Other Services

Staffing is a competitive industry, so firms have started to offer other services in order to stay ahead of their competition. And these extra deliverables can be extremely valuable to your company. For one, they should have experts on staff who understand the complexities of legal and health and safety compliance, so you’re always working within the law. You wouldn’t want to deal with fines and penalties because your staffing company didn’t ensure compliance was met before providing you with a temp or permanent employee. Additionally, agencies that provide job-specific and customized testing can ensure that you’re getting the very best candidates. And those who take care of payroll by providing weekly invoices can take a time-consuming task off your hands so you have more time to focus on your other responsibilities.

Your staffing agency should be able to find you the right candidates, have the time available to take care of your hiring needs and be available whenever you need them, and offer additional services that you can benefit from, like testing, payroll, health and safety, and legal compliance.
