5_Ways_to_Attract_Candidates_to_Apply_to_Your_Open_PositionsWith the unemployment rate at an all time low in 40 years, job seekers have their pick of available positions. The ball is in the job seeker's court, instead of the other way around.

As a hiring manager, it's important to attract candidates as much as possible in your job advertisement, while still being truthful. You need to catch a candidate's attention, and make sure your job description is clear and compelling enough for candidates to follow through in applying.

So how can you attract the best candidates to apply to your available jobs? Think about why someone would want to work for you, and for the company itself. Put yourself in the candidate's shoes.

Here are a few tips to help attract candidates to apply to your open positions.

1. Write a Clear Job Description

When you're creating a description of the job you're looking to fill, your number one priority should be to write clearly. The more convoluted your job description, the less likely job seekers are to respond and apply. No one will apply to a job description that is confusing or misleading.

Clearly state the responsibilities of the position using common words, and organize the job advertisement in a logical way.

2. State the Perks

Now that job seekers have more freedom and flexibility to choose what job they want, most highly value any perks that come with a position. The more perks, the better. For example, do employees leave early on Fridays? Are there health benefits? Name any perks that comes with the role.

We understand that not all positions are glamorous, and some jobs have few perks. Try your best to write the job in the best possible light that you can.

3. Advertise on Multiple Platforms

Make sure that all of your open positions are advertised on various job sites, and are visible to the public. The more sites your job is advertised on, the more applications you'll receive. Some sites are free, while others come with a cost.

4. Reputation is Everything

What is your company's reputation like? Are you well known as being a reputable company within your field, or geographical area? If you're not sure, take a look at the reviews/ratings about your company/service on Google. That should give you a better idea of where you stand with the public.

Generally, the better rating you have on Google, candidates will be more likely to apply with you.
