What Does Back to School Mean for Local Staffing Agencies--.jpgThere are several meanings to what back to school would indicate for staffing agencies. Back to school equates to students beginning to start planning their careers. Career planning means local staffing agencies will be busy with helping these students get on the right path towards a career.

This is not all, though. Students think not only about the jobs they want after they graduate but also of jobs they can get while still in school. Students are looking to get some work experience prior to graduating, and they’re also looking to be able to pay for tuition, books, etc.

Back to school for those already in the workforce may also mean more vacant positions in companies as employees choose to get additional certifications or temporary workers leave the workforce return to their studies.

Let’s further discuss what back to school means for local staffing agencies.

Students Seeking Career Advice

With each year of school, especially in high school and university, students are encouraged to think about their futures and potential careers. Because of this, students research jobs and plan career goals for themselves ahead of graduation. As they do so, they often seek out guidance from school counsellors.

They also register with local staffing agencies to keep informed of the job market and hiring practices, especially since they change consistently. What may have been the trend one year may not be the same the next. It is important for students to stay ahead of the curve so there aren’t many surprises as they look for jobs.

Students Looking for Temp Jobs

In addition to registering with a staffing agency for career advice, students also do so in search of work. Being a student is time consuming due to the hours spent in school plus the hours spent doing homework; therefore, temp jobs are ideal. Temp jobs allow for a more flexible schedule for students who want to work without taking too much time away from concentrating on school work. Plus, temp jobs give students work experience before they graduate.

Agencies Staying Current

Because the job market is constantly changing, it is imperative for local staffing agencies to stay current with the changes to maintain a great reputation.

Job seekers are often unable to access information regarding job trends, so they will expect to get certain information from staffing professionals. Staffing agencies have the means of staying on top of any changes, which they can then convey to their clients.

Not only do local staffing agencies need to be in the know with the job market, they also need to keep track of hiring practices. Knowing what hiring managers look for makes it easier for agencies to send the most suitable candidates for available positions.

Employees Pursuing Higher Certifications

Different employers require different educational backgrounds from their employees. Some may require similar work experience, while others look at educational backgrounds primarily. As a result, professionals who may want to change careers or apply for higher positions may consider going back to school to add on to their educational experience.

Some employees may request fewer hours at work, while others may take some time off work to focus solely on school. With both cases, companies would need to hire additional staff. Temp jobs would be the most convenient answer, so companies would recruit the help of local staffing agencies to hire new employees quickly.
