Liberty Staffing Services offers temporary office, general labour, and warehouse positions throughout Ontario. Here are six reasons a temporary office job could be right for you.

1. You’re Highly Organized

Temporary office jobs tend to demand candidates who are highly organized. Many positions will be for Administrative Assistants, or other clerical positions. You may be asked to think about schedules, or to solve travel logistics.

You might also be asked to keep track of calendars and logbooks. You could be in charge of the filing. If scheduling and organization are your strong suits, then a temporary office job could be your ideal role.

2. You Don’t Want a Long Term Commitment

Are you a student, or thinking about returning to school? Maybe you’re between jobs, or just want to try something different. Any way you slice it, you’re not sure you want to make a long term commitment right now.

That makes a temporary office job perfect for you! There’s the potential to build useful skills, and you may be asked to return if you perform well. You might even be hired on if a permanent opening becomes available.

In the meantime, you have a job that doesn’t demand long term commitment. If you decide an office job isn’t for you, then you can chalk it all up to experience, and get back to exploring.

3. You Like a Challenge

All jobs are challenging in their own unique ways, but office jobs can present a unique kind of trial. You might be tasked with finding a more efficient way to input data. You may also need to learn a filing system, or a new computer program.

Scheduling and communication often present many challenges in an office job. Great communication skills, organization, and problem solving skills will take you far in most office positions.

4. You’re Great with Computers

How many words per minute can you type? Do you pick up new programs in a snap? Do you understand networking, and other IT challenges?

If so, a temporary office job might be the right fit for you. Most office workers need exceptional computing skills. Whether it’s data entry, or administration, many workplaces have the latest technology.

5. You Prefer Working with Your Mind

Office jobs are great for people who enjoy critical thinking, and problem solving. They often demand focus on logistics, and other details.

If you prefer working with your hands, then an office job might not be a great fit. You may still need to do some critical thinking or problem solving on the plant floor, but you’ll be more engaged with your hands.

If the thought of working with your hands doesn’t intrigue you, then an office job could be the right fit for you.

6. You’re Working Toward a Degree in the Area

Many office jobs now require degrees, diplomas, or certificates. If you’re still in school, you may be working toward a specialization in one of these areas. Administrative Assistants, for example, could be required to have a certificate, or diploma.

If you’re working toward certification, you might still be able to get a temporary job, and start building your experience now. There’s no reason to wait until you’ve graduated to gain some relevant experience.

Even if your degree isn’t in the area you end up working in, it can still be beneficial to have a temporary office job. It will help you get a feel for the office environment. You may discover that you feel right at home, or you may want to go back to the drawing board.

No matter what work environment you prefer, Liberty Staffing can help you find the right job. Get in touch with us today!
